The painting Smoked was inspired by the devastating fires and the dense, smoky air that engulfed the West Coast during the Summer and Fall of 2020. A grid of black, dripping paint intentionally obscures the viewer's perspective, evoking the overwhelming sense of being immersed in smoke, ash, and soot from the wildfires.
